Manuel Baima Besquet of Sapori di Bice Restaurant wins the First Gelato Chefs Cup

The Gelato Chefs Cup, organized by the Italian Cuisine World Summit for its 7th edition (2015), has been won by Manuel Baima Besquet, Sapori Di Bice Restaurant. The second place was won by Andrea Valle Al Grissino Restaurant and the third one by Ashan Jeewantha Silva Asarappulige of Roberto’s Restaurant.
The competition reserved to Dubai-based chefs and pastry chefs was organized with the collaboration of the specialised Gianni & Gelato enterprise, which provided gelato machines and ingredients.
The competition run in two parts:
The Qualifications, which took place on October The 31st at Gianni Gelato showroom and
the Final Competition that took place on November 2nd at Lafayette Gourmet (Galeries Lafayette, Dubai Mall) where the chefs competed live for the title.
The judging Panel included Michelin Chef Paolo Gramaglia, Chef Russell Impiazzi, Culinary Director Lafayette Gourmet and Maurizio Paci, the world’s most celebrated Italian gelato expert, who designed the 
gelato machines which the participants were using during the competition.
